Authors from 19 countries competing for BDWAbyWIM

Authors from 19 countries competing for BDWAbyWIM

The 2015 edition of the Born Digital Wine Awards, brought to you by Wine in Moderation (BDWAbyWIM) recently closed submissions for this year’s awards having received hundreds of entries from across the world of wine.

The first year of the updated and re-invigorated awards proved popular with writers, wineries and video makers across the world.

In total, the BDWAbyWIM received 227 submissions during the three week period. Over 30% of the articles submitted were originally published in a language other than English, including Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian and German with authors representing 19 different countries around the world. This diversity of content is unique to these awards, and something that is expected to continue to grow in future editions.

This is an exciting opportunity to compare wine writing and presentation styles as well as different wine cultures across the four categories of content in this year’s awards; investigative/journalism, opinion/editorial, travel related content and video.

The judging process has now begun and a shortlist for each category will be announced in September. The finalists will be chosen by an experienced panel of judges that includes Richard Siddle, Sarah Abbott MW, Pedro Ballesteros MW, Willi Klinger, Hervé Lalau, Elin McCoy and André Ribeirinho.

The announcement of the winners will take place at a ceremony during the Digital Wine Communications Conference (DWCC) in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, on 24th October 2015.

The organisers thanked Wine in Moderation for supporting the goals of the awards and for creating a unique platform for promoting great and responsible online content for consumers to discover.
