Wine in Moderation Commitment Final Report receives highest possible score - 100 per cent - from EAHF external evaluators

Wine in Moderation Commitment Final Report receives highest possible score - 100 per cent - from EAHF external evaluators

In 2013, the Wine in Moderation Intermediate monitoring report received the outstanding score of 93%, scoring way above European Alcohol and Health Forum (EAHF)’s Members' average.

No matter this outstanding score, WiM Association and its members have kept their efforts high and aim at continuous improvement, always valuing accountability. As a result, the Wine in Moderation Commitment 2011-2013 submitted in 2014 reached excellence by receiving the highest possible score of 100%.

Following the assessment of the Wine in Moderation Report, EAHF external evaluators (Milieu) concluded: “The monitoring report retained its previous year quality and went even further with specifying some additional information as it became available during the implementation of the commitment. The recommendations from previous assessment were successfully taken on board and the report is well structured, concise, clearly written scoring the highest number in each area”.

“One of the main missions of WiM Association is to always aim for the highest quality possible when it comes to the tangible and measurable commitment made by the European Wine Sector to the European Alcohol and Health Forum (EAHF). We are all thrilled to see that the hard work the WiM Association and its members put in accountability was rewarded with such an excellent score” mentioned Stylianos Filopoulos, Director of the WiM Association. He continued “with the drafting of the new Wine in Moderation strategy and the renewal of the Wine in Moderation commitment, we are looking to perpetuate our efforts, optimize tools and approaches, to make the international wine sector’s commitment to promote moderation and responsibility and reduce harm form the abusive consumption of alcohol even more impactful.

Based on Key Performance Indicators and other evaluation tools, the Wine in Moderation report brings together the accumulative efforts made at national, European and international level by all WiM members.

Accountability is a key aspect of the European Alcohol and Health Forum (EAHF) and one of the main success factors of the Wine in Moderation – Art de Vivre Programme’s Commitment to the EAHF. Reporting is therefore an essential tool used to demonstrate the effective implementation of the commitment in an objective and measurable way.

Every member of the forum has the duty to report its efforts and the results that have been achieved in the frame of their commitment. Once the report has been submitted, it is further evaluated by the 3rd independent body, Milieu – appointed by DG SANTE (European Commission).
