Wine in Moderation launches major rebranding

“CHOOSE | SHARE | CARE” is the new message of Wine in Moderation with an innovative visual identity. The new Brand Strategy, message and visual identity are a result of a year-long reflection at the conclusion of the Wine in Moderation´s 10th year in existence and can already been seen on the refreshed homepage of the Wine in Moderation website.

Today, through the new Brand Strategy and communication, Wine in Moderation will continue to support wine professionals to inspire a sustainable culture of wine. With sound scientific evidence and responsible service training professionals will be provided knowledge, skills and tools, to help them understand the benefits of moderate consumption and risks associated with alcohol abuse.

The Future of EU Viticulture, Copa Cogeca and CEVI present latest trends

What are the upcoming trends, opportunities and challenges in the wine sector, how will EU winegrowers adapt to ensure a more sustainable viticulture? The event “The Future of EU Viticulture” that took place in Brussels on November 6th tried to provide some answers. Hosted by Copa-Cogeca and CEVI, two founding members of the Wine in Moderation Programme, the workshop saw the participation of a number of high-end speakers from the European Institutions. The Wine in Moderation Association was also invited to participate bringing a personal contribution to the discussion by presenting the importance of CSR and social sustainability.

HNT organises 3rd National Conference on Viticulture & Oenology
05 November 2019

The National Council of the Wine Communities – HNT organised the National Conference on Viticulture & Oenology. The event which took place at Szent István University in Buda, was organised in cooperation with the Hungarian Wine Academy. While climate change was one of the main topics of the conference, the most eagerly awaited debate was the one about low-alcohol wines. It is in this frame that HNT took the opportunity to introduce and underline the role of Wine in Moderation, and distributed Wine in Moderation leaflets and information materials to the attendees.

14-16 November 2019

From the 14th to the 16th of November, Porto became the world capital of gastronomy hosting the first edition of the Melting Gastronomy Summit, which brought together over 30 national and international speakers. An Ambassador Company of Wine in Moderation, Sogrape spread the newly released Wine in Moderation message “Choose, Share, Care” to the participants of the Conference, a perfect opportunity to talk about the importance of moderation in today’s societies.

ACIBEV at wine expos

ACIBEV reinforces its presence at wine fairs

Autumn 2019

In 2019, ACIBEV was on stage offering free breathalyser tests to visitors during three important Lisbon’s consumer wine fairs: “Mercado de Vinhos do Campo Pequeno”, “Grandes Escolhas – Vinhos & Sabores” and “Encontro com o Vinho e Sabores”. During the three events, ACIBEV carried out 1,738 breathalyser tests and distributed hundreds of brochures with relevant information on moderate and responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages, units of measurement and the legal Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) limits for driving in Portugal.

ACIBEV releases annual Wine in Moderation campaign on TV and in cinemas
20 November - 25 December 2019

For its annual Christmas action, ACIBEV has launched a campaign calling for a responsible and moderate consumption of alcoholic beverages. Based on the updated Wine in Moderation logo, ACIBEV renewed the spot that will be broadcasted on television and in cinemas.

2019 marks the 100 years of the prohibition in the United States. In this occasion, the Institut « Georges Chappaz de la vigne et du vin en Champagne » and the University of Reims, a Wine in Moderation Observer, organised an international symposium “Prohibition, 1919-2019” to address a number of themes linked to this historical period: law, history, economics, ethics & consumption. Wine in Moderation, was also invited to participate during the closing session on wine consumption.

4th UNWTO Global Conference on Wine Tourism
04 - 06 December 2019

Following the success of the past 3 editions of the UNWTO Global Conference on Wine Tourism, the 4th UNWTO Global Conference on Wine Tourism will take place on 4-6 December in Valle de Colchagua, Chile organised in collaboration with the Government of Chile.
Wine in Moderation joined the UNWTO as affiliate member in 2018 to support sustainability by promoting responsible wine tourism experiences. Wines of Chile and Enoturismo Chile, already actively involved in promoting Wine in Moderation in their actions, will continue to do so by supporting the organisation of the conference.
