The Port Wine Day is the annual celebration of Port Wine that takes place every 10 September. This event, which aims to be a worldwide celebration of Port, is organised on the historical date when its designation of origin was first created in 1756.
For its fourth edition, the Port Wine day looked to reach even more people involving restaurants, bars and shops around Porto, as well as Port Lodges, and fun-packed Port-related initiatives. As part of the program, a Rabelos Boats Regatta (organized by AEVP) also took place in the Douro River followed by a Port Wine Sunset Party.
Throughout the celebration, and mainly during these two specific events, AEVP disseminated the campaign's collectible postcards, with fun phrases, attractive colours and Pop Art inspired images, and also cup bases with a QR Code which leads to the Wine in Moderation website, where tips on how to enjoy responsibly and drinking guidelines can be consulted.
To share the celebration of this day, the Port and Douro Wines Institute and the Association of Port Wine Companies also invited specialised journalists from around the world sharing their passion for this noble product and their cultural heritage of which Port is fully integrated.
