Madrid’s Complutense University summer courses include talks on sustainability and the relation between wine and health

As part of the official calendar of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid summer courses that took place in July, three days were dedicated to addressing the different challenges related to sustainability in the food chain, with a special focus on wine as a practical case study.

The course programme included interesting presentations about innovation, sustainability and the effects of moderate wine consumption on health. Rosa M. Lamuela-Raventos, researcher at the Department of Nutrition of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universidad de Barcelona and member of the Wine Information Council, was also present to explain the role wine plays in the Mediterranean Diet, a benchmark for a healthy lifestyle.

This initiative of the Complutense Faculty of Pharmacy was sponsored by OIVE in an effort to, once again, bring the wine sector closer to the university and raise awareness on responsible wine consumption.
