Sommelier School of Lithuania graduated some of its students last 23rd of March in its capital city, Vilnius. For the first time since it joined the programme in December 2017, the Sommelier School presented Wine in Moderation to students and guests present, putting an important emphasis on the role of Sommeliers in the education and communication of the moderate consumption of wine to consumers.
School Principal, Eglė Majauskienė, added that certified wine professionals should be responsible for showing a good example to others; further spreading the message of “Wine in Moderation”, as they know how to appreciate wine and its taste in moderation.
WiM Association director, Stylianos Filopoulos, also made a surprise congratulations video for soon-to-be sommeliers; audience were delighted by the video greetings and congratulations from Brussels.
With a strong community, Sommelier School of Lithuania feels the need to encourage the moderate and responsible wine consumption; and therefore decided to join the association at the end of 2017.
Sommelier School of Lithuania (SSL) is an educational institution supplying wine, spirit courses, setting professional, social and ethical standards of sommelier, staff of wine trade and wine production companies in Lithuania since 2006. Sommelier School of Lithuania works in close cooperation with Lithuanian wine exhibition “Vyno dienos”, Lithuanian wine journal “Vyno žurnalas”, with Lithuanian Sommelier Association. It is organiser of national blind tasting competition “Nosis”, Wine and dessert best match competition “Wine+dessert”.
