Wine tourism

A popularidade do Enoturismo continua a aumentar, acreditando os especialistas que o movimento do turismo vinícola está a operar a apenas 20% do seu potencial, podendo facilmente duplicar num futuro próximo.


Entre os factores que contribuem para a expansão deste movimento encontram-se as "rotas do vinho", itinerários especializados em regiões produtoras de vinho, bem como eventos anuais, caso das "Caves Abertas" na Primavera, que atraem milhões de turistas aos vinhedos.


Além de constituir uma oportunidade para ver onde e como o vinho é produzido, e descobrir a diferença de o saborear na sua origem, o Enoturismo permite aos visitantes conhecer as tradições e a cultura associadas à produção de vinho e à vida do campo.


Embora o vinho seja o enfoque principal, o Enoturismo oferece igualmente aos turistas a oportunidade de descobrir áreas rurais e o seu cenário natural, provar outros produtos agrícolas, como o azeite, e saborear uma série de iguarias regionais e a gastronomia local, criando pontes entre os espaços urbanos e as zonas rurais.

De facto, as experiências vínicas e gastronómicas são cada vez mais um factor de decisão em termos de destino para quem viaja em lazer.

UNWTO Hails Wine Tourism as an approach to Sustainable Rural Development
UNWTO UNWTO called for wine tourism to be made part of national tourism and rural development policies at the 3rd UNWTO Wine Tourism Conference in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova (6-7 September 2018). The two days of discussions engaged experts from 30 countries and addressed UNWTO’s priority of enhancing tourism’s socioeconomic benefits, looking at specific segments like wine tourism. Wine in Moderation was also present to add the topic of responsible drinking in the sustainable development of wine businesses.
