Wine in Moderation elects new Board of Administration

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM (December 02, 2020) – Wine in Moderation is pleased to announce a new Board of Administrators has been elected at the head of the association. Coming from different backgrounds, the new Board Members bring their experience and leadership to protect a sustainable culture of wine in challenging times by encouraging moderate and responsible consumption.

Sandro Sartor, Managing Director at Constellation Brands EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) and Ruffino Winery and Vice-President of Unione Italiana Vini, and Henrico van Lammeren, CEO at Vinites, succeed respectively to George Sandeman, Sogrape Vinhos, and Ursula Fradera, Deutsche Weinakademie, who have served as Board Members since the launch of the association in 2011. Noélie Genevey, Moët Hennessy, continues for a new mandate.

It has been a great honour to lead Wine in Moderation since it was created more than a decade ago” said Mr. Sandeman. “We should all be proud of what has been achieved over the past twelve years. It has taken the work and dedication of many people to make WINE IN MODERATION what it is today. The people change, but the vision remains strong, the purpose clear and the mission unwavering. Under the leadership of its new Board, Wine in Moderation will achieve great growth and success!”

With years of experience in the wine sector, Sandro Sartor will be following in Mr. Sandeman’s footsteps. “I am deeply honoured to have been appointed as President of Wine in Moderation” said Mr. Sartor. “Wine in Moderation is a unique program that although is only at the beginning of its story, has already achieved a good level of awareness and appreciation. I look forward to work hand in hand with my fellow Board Members to continue the great work which has already been done and possibly to step up even further. The new Brand and Association Strategies will be critical in order to further improve the very important work to inspire the sector’s professionals and consumers and to encourage moderate and responsible consumption of wine.”

Henrico van Lammeren, who joins the Wine in Moderation Board of Administrators as Vice-President also commented: “I am looking forward to being more deeply involved in the association and adding my contribution to this important global movement. Launching new ideas and putting forward new projects, currently under development, will be a great challenge which I am happy to undertake with the team.”

Noélie Genevey, appointed Wine in Moderation Treasurer for a third mandate, stated: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank my two previous fellow Board Members for their great accomplishments and to bid welcome to my two new colleagues. I look forward to working together with Wine in Moderation in these challenging times where our movement is more relevant than ever.”

During the three years of their mandate, the Board Members will be working in close collaboration with the WiM Association secretariat on developing tools and materials for professionals, producing training tools and continue expanding the reach of the movement.
