For its fourth collaboration with the Belgian festival eat! Brussels drink! Bordeaux, Wine in Moderation has expanded its action, informing and educating the visitor on how to taste wines all the while being moderate and responsible.
Dedicated to the discovery of gastronomies from around the world, the festival aims to put forward the important link between gastronomy and wine by partnering with Bordeaux wines.
Surrounded by gourmet plates and wine tastings, there are a few simple guidelines that can give the consumer a richer experience.
How was that achieved? The festival magazine distributed to all the visitors at the entrance of the festival dedicated an entire space to Wine in Moderation, providing tips and hints on how to prepare a wine tasting, the do’s & don’ts and of course how to be responsible and moderate with their wine consumption.
Going one extra step, the organisers also incorporated the Wine in Moderation logo and message in three languages on the event’s webpage dedicated to moderate consumption of wine. And with the aim of further sensitizing visitors and participants of the event, a responsible message was posted on their largely followed social media pages in the week of the event.
Organisers also reiterated the concept of “Wine Pass” through which participants were encouraged to discover the art of wine tasting by joining a session organised by the School of Bordeaux Wines. Furthermore, in order to ensure that the amount of wine poured does not exceed tasting purposes, people participating received a glass bearing a limited serving size, and last but not least spittoons were also made available encouraging visitors to learn how to spit.
