17/06/16, Piacenza, Italy. A symposium on Viticultural-enological factors and health attributes of wine was oragnised by the Catholic University of Piacenza, in the frame of the International Master of Science programme VINTAGE and with the participation of the WiM Association.
The symposium was an opportunity to present a survey on consumer's (from some European countries) perception of health attributes of wine and the viticultural and enological factors affecting the presence of polyphenols in the wine. It was also an opportunity to learn more about the VINTAGE International Master.
The round table discussion that followed under the moderation of Alessandro TORCOLI, Director of “Civiltà del Bere” wine magazine, was an excellent opportunity to present different angles of wine culture and its drinking patterns and how to reinforce and expand moderate and responsible consumption patterns.
The round table discussion saw the participation of: Antonio CALÒ, President AIVV (Accademia Italiana della Vite e del Vino), Riccardo COTARELLA, President of ASSOENOLOGI and Union Internationale des Oenologues, Herbert DORFMANN, President of the Intergroup Wine, Spirit Beverages and Food Quality Products of the European Parliament, Jean-Claude RUF, Scientific Coordinator, OIV, Stylianos Filopoulos, Director of the WiM Association and Domenico ZONIN, former President of Unione Italiana Vini – UIV.
The symposium, organised by Prof. Luigi Bavaresco, brought together students, representatives of the international higher education network (www.vintagemaster.com), other scientists, high level decision-makers and stakeholders from Italy and Europe.
