Wine in Moderation introduced to prestigious Hungarian family wineries at “Pannon Christmas”

On 14 December 2017, the Pannon Bormíves Guild* of prestigious Hungarian family wineries organised its traditional Christmas celebration in Budapest. The thirty-four winemakers, members of the Hungarian wine sector, experts and national decision makers learned more about Wine in Moderation during the opening ceremony led by Jekl Bé, Pannon Bormíves Guild president, who further reiterated their commitment to the programme, mentioning the importance of the moderate consumption of wine.

Also present at the event, the National Council of Wine Communities (HNT) brought Wine in Moderation documentation and information material making it its mission to spread the programme and further informing producers and guests present how to join Wine in Moderation. Winemakers showed great interest in the programme.

* The Pannon Bormíves Guild was founded in 1999 by ten prestigious family wineries. The founding members are not only looking for the highest quality wines, but also towards ethical behavior. They consider it an important task to promote high-quality Hungarian wines and are fully committed to spreading the culture of wine.

The Pannon Bormíves Guild currently has 34 members. The Pannon Bormíves Guild represents almost all of the country's value-creating family wineries, which are the stable pillars of the small yet powerful Hungarian wine culture.
