UIV’s second table on “Wine and Health” further strengthens WIM Implementation in Italy

18 September 2014 - 19 September 2014
Location: Montalcino, Italy
Organizer: Unione Italiana Vini - UIV

Country: Italy

Taking the opportunity of their board meeting early September, Unione Italiana Vini (UIV) organised their second “Wine and Health” round table in Montalcino, Tuscany. After an update on the latest activities of the WIM Programme, the table focused on three main points: the creation of a new self-regulation charter, the organisation of an event about responsible consumption, and an awareness campaign to encourage Italian companies of joining the WIM programme.

The event UIV is planning to organise will focus on responsible consumption and will be an excellent opportunity to further inform on these very important issues, but most importantly it will enable participants to understand best approaches on wine-drinking behaviours.

These two-day meetings which took place in the beautiful Castello Banfi, Montalcino, Tuscany, were organised outside UIV Roman headquarters for the very first time and welcomed many Italian renowned scientists from the University Hospital of Verona and FederSerD Veneto, the Permanent Observatory on young people and alcohol; and representatives of CEEV, WIM Aisbl and WIM Ambassador companies (Pernod Ricard wine affiliates).
