For the second edition in a row, the Master of Port competition will be carrying the Wine in Moderation logo and encouraging moderate and responsible consumption.
Organised by the French Federation for Aperitif Wines, the Master of Port is a prestigious event that crowns the excellence of Sommeliers and Port wine. Fully established in the sector, the Master of Port is one of the main competitions for Sommeliers who undertake a number of tests on the knowledge of port wine: from geography to geology and history passing through legislation, trade and culture and of course the port wine appreciation in moderation.
The selections for the 17th Master of Port will take place on May 15th, 2017; and the best candidates will be invited to participate in the semifinals and final, which will cover theoretical and practical tests on Sunday 15 and Monday 16 October 2017 in Paris.
The French Federation for Aperitif Wines became Observer of the WiM Association in June 2015 confirming its commitment to moderation and responsibility. The Federation has been organizing Wine in Moderation actions since it joined, further enhancing their actions in favour of gastronomy and including the logo and the responsible message in all its material.
