In the frame of the next Master of Port which will be carrying the Wine in Moderation logo for the second consecutive edition, the French Federation for Aperitif Wines (FFVA) is proud to announce it has taken an additional step into the Wine in Moderation programme. Contestants of the famous Sommelier competition will indeed be asked questions related to responsible serving, incorporating this important dimension into the broader necessary competences of Sommeliers.
Similar actions have already been organised by the Greek Sommelier Association in the occasion of the 2014 annual national contest of best Sommelier. Furthermore, following the proposals of the WiM Association, training on moderate drinking and responsible business practices has also been included in the OIV recommended guidelines for the training curricula of Sommelier and Oenologist during Spring 2016.
The selections for the 17th Master of Port will take place on 15th May 2017; and the best candidates will be invited to participate in the semi-finals and final, which will cover theoretical and practical tests on Sunday 15 and Monday 16 October 2017 in Paris.
