The Hungarian wine sector takes up the challenge of responsibility and joins the Wine in Moderation – Art de Vivre movement.
The Hungarian National Council of the Wine Communities (HNT) joins the WiM Association as Observer and becomes the national coordinator of the Wine in Moderation programme in Hungary, responsible for the planning, coordination and accountability of Wine in Moderation Programme.
In its efforts to organise action and empower professional to encourage moderation and responsibility on how people appreciate wine, HNT will not be alone. It is indeed the whole Hungarian wine sector that has come together to fight alcohol-related harm and which aims to sustain a wine culture of appreciation and well-being.
Vindepent, the Hungarian Wine Academy, the Pannonia Wine Sisterhood and the Pannon Wine Guild, will be key actors in the implementation of the Wine in Moderation Programme in Hungary.

Stylianos Filopoulos, Director of the WiM Association further stated “It is a great pleasure to work together with the visionary and competent wine people of Hungary to promote moderation and responsibility. I am confident that the Wine in Moderation programme in Hungary will soon become an example for others”.

The National Council of the Wine Communities launched the Wine in Moderation Programme in Hungary in the occasion of the 37th National Wine Competition that took place in Budapest on 24 and 25 May 2016. The celebration of this new membership took place surrounded by national authorities and media and famous national and international wine judges.
